Letter from the Executive Director

June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and our county is unwavering in our commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of our elders. Whether the abuse is physical, emotional, financial or neglect, the abuse is a violation of one's trust. We urge YOU to remain aware, educate yourselves on the resources available, and advocate for stronger protections and support systems for our greater generations. Our county is fortunate to have a team dedicated to just that- and boy, do they take their responsibilities seriously.

This past month, we hosted our annual Awareness Event, and we had a great turn out! It is encouraging to see so many individuals invested in learning about the resources available to them and their loved ones. Elder Abuse is not always a fun topic to discuss, but unfortunately, it is a very prevalent topic.

We are grateful for a community willing to come together to protect our Greater Generations. Thank you to those who participated in today’s event, in sharing their resources, knowledge, and tips for identifying, reporting, and preventing elder abuse.

We need everyone’s help in protecting our elders! Together, we are stronger!

Sincerly,

Jennifer Martinez, Executive Director
