Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS DO MORE THAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE... THEY MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Marion Senior Services would like to welcome YOU to our staff of volunteers who help provide commodities, and hot, nutritious meals to the frail and elderly residents of our community.

As our County's senior population continues to grow at an unprecedented rate and with limited resources, we depend on dedicated volunteers to help us meet the needs of our senior citizens.

Our volunteers are very special, shining very brightly in our community. As an integral part of our Volunteer Team, you will be working to improve the quality of life for those over the age of 60.

Yes, I want to enrich the life of a Senior Citizen by volunteering in one of these ways...

  • General Clerical/Administration: help in our office assisting Case Managers, Aides, etc. with clerical duties.

  • Meals on Wheels Driver: ensures that homebound clients receive nutritious meals.

  • Meal Site Volunteers: assist in serving meals and providing activities/fellowship at our four Senior Centers.

  • Commodities Distribution: Assist in the monthly packing production, and distribution of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program to nutritionally at-risk seniors.

Interested in becoming a volunteer?

Complete the below application and email it to: gthomas@marionseniorservices.org or mail it to 1101 S.W. 20th Ct. Ocala, FL 34471

In working side by side with our agency, you become an important part of our team. You help monitor our clients' well-being and can even become a "bridge" between the client and the case manager. We truly value and appreciate the time and effort contributed by each of our Volunteers.

Volunteering is a way for residents to take action and build the kind of community they want to live in. Volunteers learn that as citizens and neighbors, we all have a responsibility to help meet the needs of the most vulnerable and at-risk members of our community.

Volunteers can give a regularly scheduled part of their week or participate in special events only. Our volunteer needs are flexible enough for you to give a day a week, or a day a month, or much more according to your availability.

We welcome all ages to contribute to our Volunteer program. It's a great way to give back to your community helping other senior citizens and a great way for teens to earn those much-needed volunteer hours now needed for college acceptance and scholarship applications.
